Choose a smiley, heart or celebration emoji for your next message. Click the emoji keyboard to add your choices, write any words around them, and copy everything together. Use one emoji for a reaction or build a combination for a caption, greeting or profile.
Choose an emoji and copy your message
Click a face, heart or object on the emoji keyboard to add it above the palette. Choose a single emoji for a quick reaction, or add a few to a message you have already written. Each new choice goes where your cursor is.
When the message looks right, choose Copy text and paste it into your chat, caption or profile. You can also copy an emoji on its own. If you want to change its position, select it in the writing area and edit the surrounding words before copying again.
Find a face, heart or celebration
Start with the everyday selection for a quick reply, or open Faces to browse expressions and colored hearts. Try 😊 with a thank-you, 😂 when something makes you laugh, or ❤️ beside a warm message. Read the words and emoji together to check the tone.
For a birthday, pick a cake from Food and a gift or party popper from Activities. For plans, browse Travel, Nature or Objects for a place, animal or item that fits. Use the categories to narrow your choices, then scroll through the group.
Write the words around your emoji
Open the Online keyboard to add words, a time or a name, then return to Emoji for the finishing touch. The same message stays with you as you switch. You can write the sentence first or start with an emoji and add the words afterward.
To add a text arrow, bullet or other punctuation beside your emoji, open the Symbol keyboard. For a profile line, try a short description followed by one or two related icons. Copy the whole line so your wording, spacing and chosen characters travel together.
Put together an emoji combination
For a birthday greeting, combine 🎂 🎉 🎁 and add the person's name. For a study update, try 📚 ☕ ✨ alongside a few words about what you are working on. You can replace one emoji or change their order until the combination fits your message.
A short reply often needs only one face at the end of a sentence. A caption or invitation gives you more room to combine objects, activities and expressions. Keep the actual time, place or request in words so the reader can pick out the details.
Keep the emoji keyboard beside your chat
If you are writing captions or replying to several messages on a computer, click Float above the palette. Move the floating emoji keyboard beside your chat or document and resize it to fit. You can keep your reference in view while choosing the next expression.
Keep the main page open while using the floating window. Compose a line, copy it across, and continue with the next message. Closing the small window returns your text to the original page. Save any wording you want to keep in your own notes before leaving.

How do I copy and paste emoji?
Click or tap an emoji to add it to the writing area, then choose Copy text. Paste it into the message, caption or document you are editing. To copy several emoji at once, add them in the order you want before copying the result.
How do I type emoji on a computer?
