Symbol Keyboard
Copy a check mark, arrow, degree sign or currency symbol into your message, document or profile. Pick a character from the symbol keyboard, add any words you need, and copy the result. Keep several symbols together instead of fetching each one separately.
Copy a symbol into your text
Start with the sign you need: a check mark for a completed task, a degree sign for a temperature, or an arrow for the next step. Choose a category above, click the character, and it will appear in the writing area.
To update an existing sentence, paste it above the symbol keyboard and place the cursor where the sign belongs. You can select a character to replace it, add spaces between items, or put several symbols on separate lines before copying the result.
Find currency and math symbols
Open Currency for €, £, ¥, ₹ and other money signs. Add the amount beside your chosen symbol, such as €25 or £18. You can prepare a price label, a travel note or a short list of costs in the same writing area.
Choose Mathematics for ×, ÷, ±, ≠, ≤, ≥, √ and ∞. Write the numbers around them to make a complete expression, such as 18 × 3 = 54. Copy the line into your notes or assignment when the signs and numbers are in place.
Add clear markers to notes and messages
Use → to connect steps, ✓ to mark a finished item, and • to separate points in a short list. For example, write Draft → Review → Send, or put ✓ beside the tasks you have completed. Add a line break when each item needs its own line.
For a sentence that needs different punctuation, open the Punctuation group. You can insert an em dash —, an ellipsis …, quotation marks or brackets. Paste the sentence first, select the punctuation you want to change, and click the replacement so the rest of your wording stays together.
Keep words, symbols and emoji together
Return to the Online keyboard whenever you want to add letters or numbers. Your current text stays in place while you switch tools, so you can write a name, insert a symbol, and finish the sentence without copying each part separately.
For a colored heart, smiley or celebration, open the Emoji keyboard and add it beside your words. A simple ✓ can mark an item in a note; an emoji such as ✅ can give a message a different look. Copy the complete line after you have chosen the characters.
Keep the symbol keyboard beside your document
Working through a worksheet or writing several price labels? On a desktop or wider screen, click Float to open the symbol keyboard in a separate window. Move it beside the document you are reading and resize it so you can see both.
Keep the original page open while you use the floating window. You can choose symbols, revise the wording and copy each completed line across. Closing the small window brings the text back to the main page; copy anything you want to keep before closing that page.

How do I copy and paste symbols?
Click a symbol above to add it to the text box, then choose Copy text. Paste it into your document, message or profile. You can copy one sign on its own or put several symbols and words together first. On a phone, tap the symbols and use the destination's Paste menu.
How do I type a check mark symbol?
Choose ✓ from the everyday symbols and place it beside your text, such as ✓ Finished. Copy the whole line into a note, checklist or message. If you want the green check emoji ✅, switch to Emoji and choose that character instead.
How do I type the degree symbol?
Select ° from the everyday symbols and put it after your number. Add C or F for a temperature, such as 25°C or 77°F, or leave it after an angle, such as 90°. Copy the number and sign together when you are ready.
How do I type multiplication and division symbols?
Open Mathematics and choose × for multiplication or ÷ for division. Enter the numbers around the sign, then copy the full expression. The same group includes square roots, fractions, plus-minus and comparison signs, so you can write examples such as 12 ÷ 3 = 4 or x ≤ 5.
Where can I copy arrow symbols?
Open Arrows to choose left, right, up and down arrows, diagonal arrows or arrows pointing both ways. Click → for a next step, ↔ for a connection in both directions, or ↩ for a return. Combine the arrow with your label before copying it.
How do I type the euro, pound or yen symbol?
Open Currency and select €, £ or ¥. Add the amount where you need it, or copy only the sign to paste beside an existing number. The category also includes ₹, ₩ and other currency symbols for labels, travel notes and messages.
How do I add symbols to a bio or username?
Write your name or short description here, add symbols such as ★, • or →, and copy the finished text into the profile field. Bios, display names and usernames can have different character rules. If a field rejects a symbol, remove that character and try the remaining text.
Can I type special characters without Alt codes?
Yes. Choose the symbol directly from the keyboard and copy it into your text. You can do this with a mouse, touchpad or touchscreen, without memorizing a code or using a numeric keypad. Use the category buttons to move between math, currency, punctuation and arrows.
